Just keep in mind that lower PUs don't have the 1099 first, middle, and last name fields, so they will need to be edited in the Aatrix screen.
Anyone considering adding a PU to get the functionality for first/middle/last name for 1099-NEC should also read this message about how Sage converts data. Essentially if before you install the update you do not have the name in the DBA Name field for 1099 purposes then Sage doesn't create first/middle/last names and you'll have to do it with VI.
Also, is there a link for this information? I still see an older article in the Sage KB which doesn't seem to have been updated since November. The Sage Community doesn't seem to have anything either though it's likely I'm overlooking a link somewhere.

The End of Year site has been updated and clarifies that:
- Payroll v2.25 is not required to run 2024 Payroll tax forms (and that it IS compatible with v2021 - there was previously a disclaimer that it may not be).
- The product updates are NOT required to install the 2024 IRD. Just keep in mind that lower PUs don't have the 1099 first, middle, and last name fields, so they will need to be edited in the Aatrix screen.

The internal people at Sage probably have to read the same half-written articles that we do. Posting in the Sage Community seems to be the best way to get a prompt answer on these types of questions.

P.S. A colleague has called Sage, but the info given was a little dubious given that the tech had not yet read their published article about EOY requirements.
