This issue can be removed from urgent. I believe it has been resolved. I didn't install the MIFS service on the StarShip Server computer. I was logged into the shipping computer / StarShip client computer with the Windows admin logon. Sage 100 version 2019 had never been launched when logged in with admin. After I launched Sage 100 and was prompted for either classic or standard UI, then I opened the StarShip Desktop client and the "Failed to connect to source. Error doing work. unable to establish a connection to MAS." error went away.
For documentation: Changed the logon for the StarShip services from local system account to a local admin account, and launched Sage 100 prior to opening the StarShip Desktop client.

Thanks @Amber Prayfrock Did you install the MIFS service on the client computers or the StarShip Server Manager computer or both?

I don't know if I can help with the Web vs. Desktop client issue but I had some similar issues with my live upgrade/server move this weekend after having the test environment working. I reinstalled the Server, Client and MIFS components using the latest downloads from the V-Tech portal for v24.0.3, ran through the steps in the article below for both the pvxdax.dll and MIFS reg key changes, changed the Starship Core and MIFS service from Local System to a local service account, then added that service account as Full Permissions to the Sage sharepoint: https://vtechnologies.my.site.com/support/s/article/Sage-100-2020--2021-Unable-to-establish-a-connection-to-MAS--Invalid-MAS-HOME-FOLDER--List-of-companies-blank-in-source-company-setup-screen

I have it working now on the server that has the database and the Starship Server manager installed. I changed all of the Starship services (connector and core service) logon from local system account to local admin. However, on the primary computer they use for shipping, the web client works fine yet getting the same connection error from the desktop client. It seems they could use the web client but not the desktop client now.

I've stopped driving for a moment.
When you open the sage web client, you first need to choose the gear icon to choose your connection.
I cannot remember if you need to install the updated sage link but if you do, you only need to install it for customers that are using the sage link button within sage vs the BOI.
If they are using the mifs (and I'm sure I got that name wring) service that helps with starship speed issues , you might need to update that.
I know you either need to update that mifs or the links, but my notes are in my office. My recollection is the mifs service is the one that needs to be updated with every update.

The connector is running as a service. When I open the connector app it tests OK. There are green check marks by everything and there are diagnostics that can be rub and everything tests OK. I get the same message even if the connector app is open.
Could it be the Sage 100 StarShip link needs to be updated? This is Sage 100 Premium 2019 and the upgrading StarShip from version 20 something. I am trying to find out what versions of Sage 100 and/or StarShip require the newer StarShip link to be installed.

Unfortunately I'm traveling so I'm not going to be available for back and forths.
Are you on the server? If so It sounds like you installed the connector program as application. You need to start the light green web connector prior to opening the web client. Be sure it says connected on all four tabs befor you minimize it When you open the web client you need to set the connection by choosing the gear icon.
I'll be home tonight to assist if you still need help tonight.

Getting the following error after logging into the StarShip web client: "Failed to connect to source. Error doing work. unable to establish a connection to MAS.". The service isn't installed and I don't know where to find the program to install the service. I found the following article. Any ideas?
