Client reported an issue with Payroll 2.26.0 and I just confirmed the issue on my installs of 2024 and 2025.  Opened a case with Sage support so they are reviewing and will respond tomorrow.  In Paperless Office Delivery Options in Employee Maintenance, Payroll 2.26.0 added a Confirm Password field and the "eye" icon to see the password.  If you click the "eye" icon, Error 88 will pop up.  The "eye" icon does not work at all.  Passwords are saved correctly if you don't click the new "eye" icon.
