  • 1.  Zero Quantity and Rounding Extension

    Is there an easy way to resolve the scenario when a product is received in with a fractional penny value and when all are sold there is a zero quantity cost tier and pennies of fractional cost left from rounding?

    I have a client on Sage 100 2019 that has about 150 lot tiers with this situation (accumulated over the last 15 years).

    I had a similar situation recently.  1. Import the item codes into the Item Valuation Change utility and change the valuation to average cost.  2. Import the item codes into the Inventory Transaction Register as an adjustment, quantity +1 and $0 unit cost, then update the Inventory Transaction register.   3. Import the item codes into the Inventory Transaction Register as an adjustment, quantity -1 and the fractional penny value as the unit cost, then update the Inventory Transaction register.  4. Import the item codes into the Item Valuation Change utility and change the valuation to LIFO or FIFO (or whatever valuation method you require).

    Adjust +1, post, then adjust -1 and post.  This is supposed to be fixed in a recent version, so it should stop happening, but old bad tiers need to be cleaned up manually.

    Everything except IA should be fine, but IA rounding (which allows unit cost overrides) caused this issue.
