You know those new fields in user maintenance for user email and job role? Well the Sage 300 2014 what's new explains what they are for. Sage Advisor for Sage 300 now ""allows"" (as in nags at login if you don't fill it in in user setup) for that info so they can spam the users directly.

So can you fill in any email address and job role? Last Summit recall that during the keynote for Sage Advisor they showed a graphic of a customer's office layout and touted that you'll be able to tell who's doing what and how they are using the software...this user email and job role must be part of that. It truly bugs me that Sage is gleaning this kind of information from our customer's. Big data is big dollars and if they are taking this data from customer's then they should be honest about it and PAY THEM FOR IT. I think I'll review the EULA and see what it says, this should be disclosed.
