Yet another backup horror story from earlier this week............ Jeff, Lost 2 drives in the array that contained MAS90 last night. Drives will be sent off to see what can be recovered. Backups appear to be of little use since they haven't been running correctly. So, I am dead in the water today with payroll looming tomorrow. We do appear to have room in our other server to install MAS 90 but not sure that we have anything that would be of any use available to re-establish our previously existing set up. Any knight in shining armor help available from your end or just your condolences? Please let me know of anything you may be able to do to help. And to make matters worse, they are on v4.3. Client is in the construction industry and had been deferring maintenance due to slow business. As of yesterday, drives had not been recovered. Yet another truth to the phrase - ""pay me now or pay me later"".......

We had a similar situation with a client who'd building had burned to the ground with all backups in the building. We had made a copy of their software and had it on our server it was several years old but it did give them basic setup as a starting point.

We have a customer 6 mos ago. Same thing.... Hard disk failure. Their Backups worthless. Restored to a 6 month old copy I had done. Backing up to the cloud is pretty important along with having a disaster recovery plan is very important.

People need to understand it's not IF a drive fails, it's WHEN. And sending drives off somewhere is not always the best approach, unless there is actual serious physical damage. I have a hard drive dock and use the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard software with excellent results.

We had a customer whose building burned down one weekend. Restored from off-site backup and ran payroll on Monday.

And THAT's the way it is supposed to happen!
