WTH? Importing into AR_CustomerDeleteChange and have specified Operation as a 2 (Change), included starting/ending cust (same) and new Cust (existing cust). Will not import the New Cust field because error says ""already exists"". ?????? 4.5.5 - never had an issue with this file before.

Sounds like it's treating your merge as a Renumber. DFDM the file and compare it with one where you've manually entered the same type of entry. Maybe you'll see a difference between the two. Also traditionally even though the screen and help files didn't say it, you could only have 1 type of operation. That is only Renumber or only Merge or only Delete. If the 1st record imported is a Renumber and the 2nd is a Merge it may be treating everything as a Renumber.

No diff. The longer I thought about it, the more I remembered it happening before. So I imported the original numbers into my ABC company, did the import there, and moved the file back to the client and ran it there.
