    Would like to get people's input if they've seen this at all with 4.40 and 4.50...I have encountered extremely slow performance with linking the CI_ExtendedDescription into a main report in the past and have to opt for a subreport instead, and more recently have encountered a couple clients with a large item list (>15,000) that experience slow performance in simply making manual changes to items and/or importing into CI_Item. Has anyone else experienced this ir has heard or any performance improvements coming out in future PU's?

    Just Item Maintenance via manual entry or CI_Item via VI at this point.

    MAS90 4.50.2 for one particular client...not sure what the others I've worked on in the past are on.

    Not ringing a bell with me - most of my inventory using customers have around that sized database (or larger) and I'm not seeing similar.

    Any improvement when you perform this task at the server? My initial thoughts are slow network response and/or anti virus settings. Since you are experiencing the issue during maintenance, that would rule out the ODBC connection for the time being.

    Well, client claims that they have implemented all of the normal slow-performance troubelshooting tips that I normally send to customers and there was no change. I'll have to ask them about processing manual entry or running imports at the server.

    Looks like you are going to have to verify yourself. I have too many clients that ""claim"" something is set correctly but in reality, isn't.

    We have a client who does a lot of reporting linked to the CI_Item table (recently upgraded 4.30 to 4.50). They finally worked with Sage Support on it long enough that Sage tested and found ODBC issues with the CI_Item table which made it extremely slow. The word to the customer from Sage was that a fix was coming out with Service Update 4. Wait and see...

    Clark, see if your customer will press Sage for an early release of the hot fix. Maybe it could be shared with others...............

    I have experienced the same problem @AmberStoneburg and have had to create a subreport all the time since 440 came along.
