Working with a customer on Bill of Materials - v4.4 latest PU. Printing the Indented Component Requirement Report appears either misleading or completely wrong. If I setup a BOM as: ITEM ABC Made up of: DEF -- 2 items Which is made up of GHI -- 1 item JKL - 15 items When I run a Indented component requirement report and tell the report I want to make 1 of these. I would expect to see the component: GHI x 2 = 2 items req'd JKL x 2 = 30 items req'd Instead it gives me: GHI x 1 JKL x 1 Am I doing something wrong here? If I tell a simple BOM that it takes 2 component items (which have sub items) - shouldn't the report be doing the math all the way down?

Oddly what I'm finding is that the summarized bill (bill format) does the math correctly. The Indented format does not appear to.

How the hell do you have a component requirement report in BOM that does not work? Isn't that one of the functions of BOM ?

Geez, @WayneSchulz I was hoping that was a working site....

The Costed BOM report also doesn't work. We had to have a programmer fix it because Sage had no idea when it would be fixed.

I have been fighting with Sage for weeks about the Costed BOM report. They told me I had to upgrade to 4.5.6 and that it was fixed then. After a test upgrade at my office on my clients data, it's still not right. Who did you get to fix it?

Wonderful. Sage have all but abandoned the manufacturing.

Does costed BOM not work at all or is there a certain scenario that we should be on the lookout for? I'm in the midst of attempting to implement for a very good customer. I've had positive experiences with BOM in the past though like most of Sage's products it sounds as if the core BOM has been allowed to deteriorate and fall into disrepair.

My client has very complex bills wtih options. In some cases, there aren't any line items, just a series of option bills that might also be subassembiles. This did all work fine in 4.3..

FWIW - I found that the report type option was responsible for breaking the Costed BoM report. Specific Bills worked and Selection of Bills didn't (or vice versa, been a while since I uncovered this)

That's correct - Specific Bills work (you have to select each option you want included), Selection of Bills will show all options and this one doesn't work.

Just got off the phone trying to explain why the Costed Bill of Materials report is not correct. ""But you CAN run it for two levels and it will be correct!"" ""Yes, but it doesn't give you totals for sub-assemblies and the report is much longer."" ""Well, you can also run it for specific bills and it will be correct!"" ""Yes, but then I have to manually add each bill as opposed to a range, e.g. this bill and this bill and this bill. Do you see my point?"" ""Yes, I do. It looks like there is a master developer who has a fix for it. Should I check it out for you?"" ""How does Sage feel that there is a master developer fixing their program glitches? Are there only two programmers at Sage or what? Why do we pay THEM maintenance again??"" Sigh.......

Because Pascal wants his bonus and the development of X3 has to be funded by somebody...
