We tried, when Production Management first came out, to purchase Work Order for one client who already had MRP and to purchase MRP for another client that already had Work Order. We were told vehemently that WO and MRP were no longer sold, and there was no way we could get them, and that our only option was to use Production Management along with Inventory Replenishment.
Yesterday, I found out from Linda Cade (with Mike Ritchie copied on the email) that indeed,
if you ask you can get the WO and MRP modules when you place an order for Production Management and Inventory Replenishment. Pretty sure the Sales Advisors don't know that. And why would we want that old software? Because so far, all of the clients we know/have been working with want to know projected demand as well as demand for more than just the first Level on on BOM. Just wanted others to know, if they're in the same boat that we are, that the old modules are still available. It's obviously risky to put a client on modules that have been "officially" discontinued, but at least we do have an option to give to the client, with full disclosure that the modules have been discontinued rather than potentially losing the client to another software.
