Wondering if anyone else has seen this with custom

Wondering if anyone else has seen this with custom reports containing subreports and trying to export to Excel after upgrading to 2013. Users are getting ""Runtime error! Program: ..\MAS90\Home\pvxwin32.exe"". If I remove the subreport, the error goes away when exporting. There's no more that I can do to ""clean up"" the subreport so I can't see that it has anything to do with formatting. Any other suggestions?

Yes this was reported somewhere I want to say resolved with a product update and/or Crystal Reports program patch.

There is supposed to be a service pack that you can install for Crystal Reports to resolve this. I have been unsuccessful in getting the service pack to properly unzip so I can install it. Here's the site for the CR service pack downloads: https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main_public.htm

Thanks guys. I did a search for ""runtime error"" before posting this, but nothing came up. I will try the Crystal service pack.

Here is a link on the SAP website that has the install exe's. http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824 Pick the MSI for your OS (32 or 64 bit) (more info on this at http://sagecity.na.sage.com/support_communities/sage100_erp/f/97/t/72039.aspx)

Welp...that didn't seem to help. I updated the server with the install and tried exporting, and still no go. Marc - have you actually had to install SP7 and did it resolve the export issue?

This doesn't help, but I can tell you that I have one client where they CAN export to Excel on the server, but not from any workstation. And like you, i can't get rid of the subreports. So there is something different on the server, but of course I have no idea what.

Hi Amber - Did you install the sp7 on the workstation also? I believe you need to install at both the server and workstation.

I'm working only on the server right now, trying to get the problem figured out before I roll anything out to the workstations. I will try to call Sage to see if they have anything else to try.

So I installed the SP7 at my client's server, had the server rebooted and can now successfully export a report with a subreport to Excel. I am going to deploy it now at a workstation at the client and see how that goes.

I didn't ask for a reboot. I wonder if that makes a difference?

I've been burned before when ignoring the ""you must reboot"" message after various installations. I would advise a reboot.

The SP7 install didn't ask for one so I never considered that it might be helpful.

Thanks to Jane, I installed the 32-bit version of SP7 on the 64-bit machine and my export worked. It must have something to do with compatibility with the software and not the operating system.

My customer now has loaded the SP7 on their workstation and is also successful now in exporting to Excel Crystal Reports with subreports. Yay - a fix that works!

Thanks Everyone! Just searched and found this solution. Awesome! Service Pack 8 is out there now, should I just install it?

@BrettLyder, others may give you a better answer but I think the conventional wisdom with Crystal Service Packs is to only install on an as needed basis. Of course if you review the release notes and you see something you have experienced that they have fixed you may want to try it.

Thanks @CullenLowe but of course while I was waiting for a reply, I went ahead and downloaded SP8. I installed it on my clients TS and am waiting for it to be re-booted. We'll see, it didn't say it required a reboot but the report still isn't exporting so hopefully a reboot gets it working.
