WIP Reconciliation Issue from Deleted Part Here is a problem that causes the WIP report not to be able to be reconciled: 1. You have a work ticket part with a quantity used - doesn't matter where the source of the use came from. The usage was posted in August 2013. 2. In September of 2013 you unused the part down to zero. You then delete the part because it was not needed on the work ticket. 3. You run the WIP report for August of 2013 and since the part was deleted, so are the transactions that would support the postings to and from WIP. 4. The result is WIP cannot balance to the GL in August because the transaction which debited WIP is gone. My request to JobOps is to not allow parts to be deleted if Dynamic Inventory is on. I view this as a bug. JobOps' view is that this is an enhancement request (really?) because it has ""always worked this way"". I would appreciate any and everyone's opinion on this. Thanks!

How many other places are transactions deleted just to make the programmers job easier?

OMG!! Do not even get me started about WIP Reconciliation with this issue and the 401 errors that are not corrected prior to closing the WT make reconciling a real pain. I have requested that 401's throw an error before closing the work ticket, like other errors on the validation report but was told that is not possible. Funny though the first question asked if you call support with a WIP issue Do any 301/401 errors exist on the validation report, and/or have they deleted any components lines? I think the deleted line should appear in the transaction files and WT Transaction detail report.

@JaneScanlan - guess it's not an enhancement request anymore, the functionality to delete parts where any issues have taken place previously has been removed in v2014

No not yet, it was supposed to be the end of June. But just contacted support to refresh my memory on the issues of deleting parts and WIP and was informed this functionality was taken away.
