We have had similar issues on the newer server operating systems. We think for our one client who is having the issue now, is that he's RDPing into the Server and after he logs off, there's a time lapse, and then the application server stops. Something about RDPing...This is what we've been suggesting.
Create a network user with administrative rights, let's call it SAGE100.
Log onto Server as the administrator.
Stop the application server.
Log off as the administrator and log on as SAGE100 administrative user
Start the application server
Disconnect or sign out or whatever is available
Do NOT user the user SAGE100 again, unless you specifically need to go to the server and stop the application server
If you RDP to the server do NOT use the user SAGE100
Do NOT use the user SAGE100 for any other reasons, except for stopping and staring the application server
