Windows 7 Workstation, we can't install Sage workstation version 2015 PU3 we get object ProvideX script is invalid. I've seen this before but most of the usual suspects don't seem to apply. There is no antivirus on this machine at all, UAC is off we are logged in as domain admin account. when we go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Sage\Common Components right click on pvxcom.exe and do run as administrator we get the attached error https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/groups/18801-sage100urgentsupportneeded# 2 different techs at Sage worked on this for about 3 hours Friday and then IT worked on it for another 3 hours with no progress whatsoever. Sage said there is something on the workstation blocking it. IT doesn't necessarily dispute that but they think it is more likely that there are .dll's missing

This may be a dumb suggestion and not sure it can even happen, but can you install with Windows in Safe mode with networking? I realize you said No Antivirus but doesn't Windows Defender install by default?

I'm willing to try anything at this point. I can reboot in safe mode i'll give that I try and see if I can at least run the pvxcom.exe

When you are installing the workstation, are you doing the Autorun.exe in the WKSETUP folder (as Admin)?

yes, we are using the autorun and running it s admin, we have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times I can't even count. when we first install it gives the same error attached then if we do a ""repair"" it finishes without any errors but we don't have any icons in the start menu to launch with and if I launch pvxiwin32.exe manually we also get an error. uninstalling from control panel always works without any errors . then we the routine starts over again.

Did it indicate it was installed .Net and C++ stuff the very first time you ran it? Googling that error shows a lot of issues with games.

I don't think Repair works anymore, always seems to uninstall. If I have to repair, I uninstall and then install again.

I rebooted in safe mode and if I try to run pvxcom.exe (run as admin) I get the same error I tried installing workstation setup, but I get a message that windows installer package is disabled in safe mode (makes sense I guess)

@BethBowers It does not indicate that it is installing any prerequisites, it may have at one time the client first tried installing on their own and called us when it first started getting errors.

You might take a look at the attachment and run it by your IT guys. Domain admins do not always have full admin rights at the local level of a Win 7 workstation.

Thanks @ChrisStAmand I just passed that on to the IT guy, I don't know if he is available today or not, we are logged in as Domain admin but I thought earlier that it almost seems like the domain admin account we are using doesn't have local admin rights.

Did you try turning off the print spooler service. Someone suggested that here in 90minds and it's worked for me several times.

Thanks @RonGouveia or the suggestion I had not tried that yet. but I did just now I stopped the print spooler service, completely uninstalled Sage workstation from control panel and then installed from the Auto Run (using run as administrator) sadly I get the same error. I think I am going to tell IT to wipe this machine and start over I have nothing else left in me.

That's what I did at one upgrade as it was the last resort and it worked.
