Just got a call from a customer asking me to assist IT in setting up Sage 100 Standard on a new computer.  He had followed his installation instructions but couldn't figure out how to launch it after the installation completed.  Apparently Windows 11 doesn't consider it an app since it is on the server - no shortcut anywhere within whatever passes for a Start menu in 11.  We had to copy a shortcut from another workstation.  it does seem to work so far after that...

Sage needs to document how it should work (since Win11 is officially supported now).  Maybe post on Sage City to get that ball rolling?

We can't rely on manual shortcuts / copies in the long term.

Are you certain with is Win 11 specific?

I’ve had this happen on Windows 10 and earlier - though not regularly.

Usually uninstall the workstation and reinstall gets it set up.

    No idea why it happens

I hit the trifecta of WIN 10 workstation installs today.  V2021 on the WIN 2016 STD server.  Once done, ran the wksetup from the server (UNC path).  Install through a "PVX object init failed error".  KB 64127 indicated a possible solution was to run the pvxcom.exe file.  Then I ran the wksetup in repair mode.  installed without issue.  But no icon available.  Uninstalled, reinstalled several times.  Even created a mapped drive.  Same issue.  Init error message, run pvxcom.  No icon.  Rinse repeat.  Since v2018 was on the workstation, I navigated to the program folder where it resided, made a copy, renamed it to 2021, changed the target and start in paths to the 2021 location and ran with it.

Exact same issue with the other two.  Only difference was that I didn't waste my time installing the 1nd, 3rd and 4th times.
