  • 1.  Will workstation setup for v2020 install on a Windows 7 computer?

    We have a client that wants to hold out upgrading computers.  Anyone tried it?

    I have a secondary workstation running Win 7 that I successfully installed v2020 server (so I could install PU1).  Not the same thing as the workstation install and not extensively tested, but no errors.

    My client has v2020 on a WIN 10 (single user install).  I tried to install the v2020 client on a WIN 7 and was not successful.

    A couple months ago I had trouble with v2020 on a Win7 machine; it wouldn't work.  I can't remember the exact issue, just that "it wasn't really working"; not sure if it was at all also network-related.  I believe that was the only time I had tried.

    We just did a v2020 upgrade last week, where one of the users has a Windows 7 computer.  That computer consistently gets error messages while no one else does.  Pretty sure we've attributed the errors to her Windows 7 workstation, so we are replacing it.

    We've now had success on multiple Win7 computers with v2020.1.  Initially we had an issue but then apparently IT made the following changes fwiw:
      • cross domain trust required password complexity rules of new domain...
        as an extra level of fix I've starting adding the user accounts locally to the new domain.
