Why is Invoice data entry not telling us if there is not enough on hand when we are invoicing against a sales order.
A new client just pointed out that when they invoice against an existing sales order, if they put a quantity in that exceeds the on hand quantity they do not get a warning. even with the ""check for available quantity"" check box is turned on in SO options. My initial testing confirms this. (I do get a warning if I'm doing a ""direct invoice"" but not when invoicing from an existing order.
They do get the warning during sales order entry and this client sometimes ships stuff soon after it comes in the door, so they were expecting a warning in invoice data entry if the PO person had not yet done their ROG entry .
I can write a script to check before they save the invoice during data entry, I just can't quite grasp why no other client has pointed this out in the 15+ years I've been doing this. Am I missing something?
