1. Because when someone asks ""so what do you think it will take"" --- which almost all web based visitors do --- I can quickly answer ""our price for a non-support customer xxxx starts at $ y,yyy.""
and I don't spend any further time researching because unless you're charging at anything other than $45/hour the invariable answer is
""thanks I'll let you know""
Now -- you can spend 4 hours working up the quote that gets that reply (unless you're under-charging).
....or you can spend 15 seconds.
