Who has experience with AccuPOS? Received a lead from Sage for Sage 100. After the initial call, the greatest need is a POS system that would integrate (interface) with Sage 100. I know @HaroldWestover sells a competitive POS system that is more robust (for less money) but I feel obligated to pitch AccuPOS since the lead came from Sage. Thanks in advance.

I have a customer on Accupos. They seem relatively happy though I think there have been some so/so feedback comments on Accupos in the past. Accupos handled all the install directly with the customer so that was much easier than me having to learn a POS system.

I have a customer on AccuPOS too. They will do a lot of the setup and training. The thing I like is the VI jobs are easy to work with and configure. Their support has gotten much better over the last year, used to be tough to reach anyone who knew the MAS side.

My experience was a lot like @DianaLaughner 's, four years ago, we were teaching them MAS and they were modifying the program as they learned. I think it is much better now.

We have a cigar and gift shop customer on a single station with low volume connecting the data through the AccuPOS FTP service back to the home office. Our customer was not competent to configure any portion of AccuPOS so our services were about a 5:1 ratio of services:product. It was our first AccuPOS implementation so we had a bit of a learning curve though most of the time was extracting wants/needs from our customer. The software seems solid enough but there was one terminal and one scanner failure. Documentation was challenging. SPS integration is fine. Users have finally learned to call AccuPOS for support. All in all, AccuPOS does a fine job. It helps to have competent users and willing/capable system ownership.

As an aside I had a customer use Retail Pro which at the time (way back in the 4.1 or 4.05 days) had a link to GL and AR (maybe they still do). My experience with Retail Pro mirrors most of the comments above. We had to teach Retail Pro the MAS side of things ---- which is understandable but the salespeople make it sound like there's no work to make the integration. Also the integration was pretty good between the two but had some rough edges requiring extra services (similar to Bob's comments). TL;DR: I don't think the grass is really greener with any of these integrations unless it's something that is sold a LOT to Sage 100 customers such as Avalara, etc.

I know this is not news to most of you: Just because it's an Endorsed Solution and we get tier credit doesn't mean it's the best solution. We now have one install of AccuPOS (2 stations) and an inherited one (never used) from a merger. These will be the last AccuPOS installations we sell, and we will instead deal with SWK on their POS solution. The actual software from AccuPOS works fine and integrates fine with VI. It's all the other issues we had to deal with, such as: 1. The hardware they sent (they source it, even though it's not theirs) had incorrect cables for the scales. It took a MONTH for them to determine this after we finally sent the entire station and attachments back to them. They acted as if we replaced the cables - we did not. We spent countless hours trying to test and resolve this issue to no avail. Now that we have the correct cables, the hardware operates fine. 2. They really do not train the users. They say they do, but primarily refer to documentation on line. 3. The support, which costs much more than a Gold Plan, is inferior. Either they put people on hold and then tell them after 45 minutes they will need to call back or the techs are just incompetent. For premium support prices, none of this should happen. 4. They tout the fact that they have bilingual tech support. That may be advantageous for some of our customers, but I don't need that and couldn't understand a word the ESL tech said. I will be recommending to Sage that they reconsider the Endorsed status of this vendor, or at least have an alternative. Since the SWK POS was the original software Sage offered directly at one time, I would think they would consider that as the Endorsed solution. One advantage of that, of course, is that it integrates directly without VI.

As I heard at Summit the endorsed solution program is going away @JohnHoyt so it might be a moot point at this time. Good to know about AccuPOS, what a mess for you/your staff to deal with.

@JohnHoyt @HaroldWestover has a POS system that several group members work with. Give him a shout to learn more about a POS system that actually works.

Unless there has been a change, I remember that the POS from Harold does not support SPS, which presents issues for clients that are already using SPS for other operations.

What @JohnHoyt says about SPS is true. However, credit card processing is run through the POS system not Sage. With our POS system, you can use the built-in Averacharge, Mercury Payment by the end of August, or anyone else thorough pcCharge. The advantages far outweigh the disadvantages: A true POS system, continues to run even when the Internet goes down, (each lane has the full Inventory, customer, vendor files), no delay in interfacing with Sage Upgrades and on and on. We have a customer who insisted on ACCUPOS because it was the ""Sage Endorsed"" product. Now two years later, we replaced it with our system. And something dear to all our hearts, you the dealer will make more money.

I'd like to see your POS solution Harold. Anyone else in for a webinar?

We (@HaroldWestover, actually) did a webinar a while back but it's been almost a year. If Harold's willing and there are enough interested, it might be worth a repeat.

I usually summarize the feedback from 90 Minds and anonymously (no names) provide general info. That also serves as backup as to why you made the recommendations that you did (Sage vs 3rd parties). POS, Job Ops - these are all more specialized in some cases than I want to be involved and find it far easier to partner than to try taking on a product that I'll do onesies and twosies of.

@johnHoyt, I would throughly test the SWK/Hightower product before going to far. We have two clients that have beein on Hightower POS for years (Unix versions on through to 4.3) but we are still waiting for the 4.5 version to get useable before going live (they skipped 4.4 entirely). I am aware of a couple other resellers that are in the same boat. We have not had a chance to test the new build that came out a couple weeks ago but heard that Returns were still not working. Hopefully, when they get the bugs out of 4.5, 5.0 won't be such a challenge. Unless SWK can get this product totally up to date and keep it there, I doubt Sage is going to be interested in indorsing it. Situations like this may be why Sage is phasing out endorsements. If anyone is currently using the SWK/HT product successfully, we would really like to hear about it. It seems like Harold is the bright spot in the POS pond at this point.

Here is a link if you are interested in a webinar of Harold's POS system. Once you vote, we will make a determination of when to hold the webinar. https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/17387938?ref=stream
