Where is the logic?? One of my hardware support companies referred a v3.4 MAS user to me. Apparently, they are installing a WIN 2008 SBS server which will not support their 12 (?) year old version of MAS so they are thinking about upgrading. So I send a note to Sage to figure out the pricing situation (see discussion below). So when they respond with the pricing (SBE 5 User), they also say I have to get the ROR changed. No problem as that will be the next step if they are serious using BLS to do the upgrade. But then I started thinking. If Sage is going to treat this new license revenue, then why do I have to bother with an ROR? Doesn't by definition, a new license sale mean there is NO existing ROR???? I suppose I shouldn't be supprised..................

Part of the issue might be that Sage won't discuss this with the non-ROR -- so maybe they were providing some advice up front and then requesting ROR to go further. Though I agree with your thoughts 100%.

No, she just reminded me that to sell me the SBE upgrade, I would have to be the ROR............... Which is the normal SOP. But who cares if it is a new license deal. Just strange when you think about it.

I remember when you used to effectively switch ROR when you sold a new Library Master - I believe that was a ""no paperwork required"" deal.

Well, it took numerous e-mails with my Sage rep but she finally agreed that an ROR is not necessary if an LM was involved in the purchase. Very hard for us to make sense of the requirements if Sage personnel can't even do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
