I spoke with John Hoyt and Jane Scanlan today regarding participation at MOTM. They were pitching a facilitated round table session on "Where is Sage 100 Manufacturing Today" where they would present 3-5 challenges for manufacturers to solve with Sage 100 and let the tables present ideas. They work heavily with Operations Management (Job Ops) although they do Production Management as well. They feel like the new PM modules were rolled out with no training and most customers who received 3 licenses to it are relatively lost and so are many in the reseller community who got little to no training from Sage. They will write something up for the committee to review.
This also brought up the potential for future end-user educational opportunities if we decide to go in that direction.
When I asked him if anything had changed in OM since Scanco took over, he indicated that although there have been no changes, he and Jane have been working with Ron Jacobs on the enhancement roadmap and that with Scanco's recent funding, OM will be getting investment. Specifically, he indicated compatibility with multi-currency and other highly complained about issues. He also indicated that Ron Jacobs will be attending MOTM 2024. I suggested that they get a GOLD package for sure and hold a session on the road ahead for OM.
I also asked him about his thoughts on a separate PM session in the lines of "How to Make PM Work for Your Clients". I suggested a panel or getting Gil Ponte and he thought that would be a good idea due to the limited education provided by Sage. I will reach out to Gil about this!
