Where do you buy the forms for Aatrix 1099 and W2 printing? Does anyone know the form code or what to look for? I probably asked the same question last year.

Be careful! Last I checked (last Year), the IRS still required a RED preprinted form for their 1099 copy!. Honestly Doug, unless you have 1000's forms, pay the fee to Aatrix to let them print, mail and upload the information to the Fed's and state folks. You have better things to do with your weekends!!! Like wait for the partner portal to come back up!!!! Happy New Year!!

I know Jeff. I read your post from last year. This one client is ""special"". They like to print the forms then give them to their accountant who reviews and then re-created all the w2s and 1099 on different forms. I usually efile and have the forms mailed to the recipients. Same client that insists on shutting off the server every night for ""security purposes"". I've been telling the owner for 20 years that he can get hacked during the day just as easy as he can at night. Took me 10 years to get them off a 9600 baud modem and onto Comcast Internet.

Okay, so i'ts a 4-up only 1099 form? I have a customer that wants to print 2 up style, since that's what the purchased and after all it worked last year (when they were on version 4.05). Is there any work around so they can use the 2-up form and Sage 100 v.2016?

No, there is no option for format.

Pretend to be printing the federal forms? This assumes their 2-up form is preprinted.

@MoiraGoggin I have had the same question from several end users. They don't know there is a form change until they are ready to print then they have to scramble to find the correct forms. Great reason to outsource. You would think someone at either Aatrix or Sage would give a heads up to everyone well in advance of January when everyone is under pressure to get forms printed

Well Doug, you and I should open a 1099 forms filing business! The 2-up form is perfectly acceptable to the IRS. Not having this option in Sage/Aatrix is yet another strike against both. Okay @JeffSchwenk the form is preprinted how do I fake out Aatrix and print 2-up 1099-M?

Just move forward the 1099 printing wizard until you get to the federal form printing spot.

That's the trick! @DougHiggs here's your work around - select to print Federal 1099 form - it's a 2-up format.
