When you merge customers in MAS, it does not merge them in SageCRM. Is there a utility (either built-in or 3rd party) to merge companies in SageCRM?

You can manually merge companies in Sage CRM if you have proper security. It's set in the Admin area for user configuration. We recommend two things (to resellers, to our own team and definitely to clients): 1. Backup up your system before merging. 2. Double-check after merging. I've seen too many people make a simple error when merging and it can take quite a while to resolve manually if you don't have the backup.

I am not sure if this still holds in SageCRM 7.1, but in 6.2 and 7.0 connected to MAS, Sage put code on the CRM side to hide the merge capability. However, that code only runs in IE, so if you launch SageCRM in Firefox, you can use the merge capability.

Is this for the case that both companies in CRM are linked in MAS or is this the case where only one company is linked? If it's the former will CRM let the user choose which is the good company?

CRM does let you choose which company is the ""survivor"". If both companies are linked to MAS customers you should unlink them before doing the merge on each side, then recreate the link.
