When version 4.5 is released to customers (it apparently started shipping 9/8 to new users) there will be no CD/DVD -- instead the customer will download the program. From what I can tell it's an ISO file which I believe means you also need to ""burn"" to a DVD/CD prior to installing.

That's just crazy. Accpac has had the downloadable setup files for years. How hard can that be?

You can use an ISO Reader so you don't have to burn to CD/DVD. Do ISO or Daemon Tools are good.

Yeah but I wonder how big the iso image is. it could be >2+ gb.. Ouch that is a big download..

SAP has done this forever. The CD they send from Germany is always out of date, so we only download from their site. They have a download manager that helps the process in case of disconnects.

Sage did have a download manager when I used it.

As I thought... web download 2.9GB good luck with that...

Jim if you find something that's free and mounts that ISO image in Windows let me know

I think I have used ISObuster. it is freeware

You need to login to Sage first and then click the link.

You don't actually have to burn to CD, there is some type of software that can install, but I forgot what it was called. i will try to find it.

As I posted elsewhere, WIN 7 64 OS creates the DVD for you. No need for special DVD creation software.

Well I have logged into Sage and looked high and low and cannot find this ""link"" for v4.5. Maybe it is not available to certified consultants yet....

Wearing my reseller hat, I haven't seen this link either. I did get a link for the beta/early adopter program.

What exactly should customers be receiving for 4.5? Is it just an e-mail with the download instructions?

Interesting. Don't you wish that Sage would cc us on these emails to clients? I'm just glad that it didn't say ""Sign up for Gold Business Care and skip dealing with your partner"" like a lot of client emails say these days. Okay ... I'm stretching it a bit but still.
