When trying to access a Sage 100 table (v4.4) using MS Access I connect up the table via File - Get External Data. Then I select Link Tables and ODBC - Machine Data Source - SOTAMAS90 I'm able to log into the Sage 100 system with user and password. However when I add a table and try to just view it in Access I get: ODBC -call failed [Providex][ODBC Driver][FILEIO][Table is not accessible (#12) I suspect user rights of some type. I can create a crystal report on this same workstation and connect to the vendor master file and it pulls data.

ODBC Security enabled? Did you pick AP_Vendor in Access as well?

Can you import rather than link the table? If so, try using a PTQ instead.

MS Access is notorious for holding onto connection parameters that may have changed. Did you close MS Access and retry? If so, then from your 32-Bit ODBC Administrator: when you select SOTAMAS90 and click Configure, then select the Debug panel and click Test Connection - Do you get the message Connection succeeded and Datasource includes xxxx tables? Heaven help you If Crystal still works and this doesn't.

There is no ODBC Security - I did try the ODBC test connection and it returned an ""ok"" message and indicated 700 tables. I'm pretty sure the issue occurred previously and I fixed it (seem to recall something about table locations) then the customer didn't test or work with it and now it appears to have recurred. I'm asking them to test permissions by logging in as Admin and trying to run however I'm not terribly hopeful. The fact that Crystal runs via ODBC but not Access has me boggled.

Is it 32 bit or 64 bit Access?
