    When setting up a segment, do you always have to have a 00 value? I have a new customer who wants to use a third segment for location and wants to use the values 02 and 03 leaving 00 for later when they may have a centralized function. Is this possible?

    I believe so. From what I remember the segments zero fill by default.

    I set up a new main account then created an account through GL maintenance with a second segment as a non zero account. System allowed it without having the 00 segment. So it appears possible to do want the customer wants to do.

    Hi Gary - I too have setup segments for clients without the -00 without any ""fallout"". Actually, have done it for years.
