When adding new user licenses, Sage seems to be issuing a new serial number (not just a new unlocking key) for Sage 100. In the past they always just issued a new user key and the serial number stayed the same. This is causing issues with MDs who tie their enhancements to the Sage serial number. Is this just the way it is?

I came across that last week for a client. And I actually had a new activation key, serial #, unlock key, and acct # - and the client was already running 4.5. I would have expected to only need to update the unlock key, and maybe the activation key. And this was actually the 1st time I've had to use the new Customer/Account # that shows in the Sage Portal. I'm wondering if all the reg info was re-generated (based on the new Customer/Account #) upon processing an additional purchase.

I just asked and Sage said that Atlas did change this -- any change such as a user count, or a module purchase, generates a NEW serial number. So WATCH if you have any MD enhancements that rely on the serial number. This happened to us with DSD's enhancements.
