Does anyone have any documentation that explains the primary differences between the "Production" vs. "Operations" modules?

Check out these - I am not sure they are meant to send to customers ( I didn't read the entire disclaimer, etc )

The Operations Management document is incorrect under Target Customers. Ideal Customers states "Discrete manufacturers that only make-to-stock and return items to inventory when completed." This is a description of Production Management.

There are very few small to medium size manufacturers that make-to-stock based on planned production, because it lacks the flexibility of production based on orders and the ability to customize the product. Many of these manufacturers do not want much, if any, inventory and do not invest in large warehouse spaces. The current economy dictates this.

There will be some users that fit well into the Production Management model, probably the smaller companies. Eventually others will find the limitations of the product compared to Operations Management and will need to switch to take advantage of those features.

These "cheat sheets" are a great idea, but they really don't address the differences side by side. Scanco talked about doing that, but when the key people left, it didn't happen. Truthfully, I would rather use my skills to sell Operations Management than to present both options, if it is obvious they need Operations Management.
