    1. Expect download availability April 1, 2022 with GTM ( presumably release to customers ) early April 2022
    2. This is pretty clearly a Production Management release ( 35 minutes of the presentation were PM specific and maybe 10 minutes general enhancements )
    3. Sage Intelligence now compatible with 64-bit ( @Jeff Schwenk )
    4. Document Date Warning, Spell Check, ALE Full Search, Theme Maintenance no longer subscription only
    5. History options now default to 5 years on new company setup
    6. Save date selection for report option ( settings )
    7. Sales Order and Quote History have some added fields ( Order Type, Ship Date for Std and BO, Expire Date for Quotes)
    8. Can search for quotes on the S/O tab in customer maintenance
    9. Item Maintenance updated to search for Quotes, Master and Repeating Orders

    10. Inactive items can now be excluded from ALE lookup

All of the information was listed as personal and confidential do not distribute so it would be best not to post this outside the group

My .02 - if you were around when SO went to framework I think you are going to see the sequel only it is going to star PM

Dang it.  Missed the webinar....  I doubt there is a recording.  Did they add any new PM features or just a rewrite to fix the breaks?  Any improvement for data entry so you don't need the WO efficiency enhancements?  Will there be a "decent" manual or should we keep the v3.71 around?

Would love to read the case study on how to outsource and F' up a rewrite.......  Did anyone actually lose their head over it?

Might be tempted to start 64 bit on some vanilla clients, maybe even the BLS WHQ install.  Just need to determine how badly I need the previous installs...

I DO remember the v4.1 roll out.  @Beth Bowers, I and other beta testers worked long and hard breaking it only to find out we barely scratched the surface.  VERY embarrassing...

@Wayne Schulz - Any mention of resellers having to be certified to implement?  I can't believe Sage will let that opportunity to soak the remaining resellers $500 for the honor pass by.  Perhaps there will be a two day session at the Dallas Summit in June.

Thanks @Anne Sawyer.  Can't wait to watch but not sure if I will now.  Have received several PM's warning me the hour would be better spent sitting at a wine bar (in Paris) this April.

@Beth Bowers - Wasn't the luncheon at Incites, the certificate of Beta Testing Excellence and the photo op with George Rivera worth the pain and suffering???

In looking at the slide deck and associated questions (that were fit to print) ....
    1)  Certification to install is required - Do the resellers who became Scanco certified AUTOMATICALLY remain certified or is there another hoop to hop through.  Let's hope not!!
    2) Per the slide deck - Base functionality will remain as it is today - Are they referring to WO base functionality or PM base functionality?

To sum it up, we can go back to the future for a mulligan?

Did the MOD squad get any shout outs???

I love Paris in the Spring time!

Did you HAVE to mention 4.10, @Jeff Schwenk?  THAT WAS A LIVING NIGHTMARE.  I still remember installing a fix for commissions - which then caused them to stop calculating completely.  I also remember that was the version where I learned the hard way that the MAS_XXX/Reports folder gets wiped out when you reconvert the data files.

When Linda Cade was speaking, I thought the batteries were going dead in a smoke alarm in my house.  There was a beeping noise every 15 seconds or so.  I was walking around for 10 minutes trying to figure out which smoke alarm was creating the noise.  I finally turned the sound down on my computer and the beeping went away.  When the presenter changed to Elliot Pritchard the noise was gone.  I'm not sure if it was my computer or if that extra scoop of coffee I put in the coffee maker was making me hallucinate but it sure was annoying.

Thank you @Anne Sawyer.  My takeaways.  PM 2.0 is not compatible with IRP. so if you need MRP or IRP, and Production Management, v2022 is not for you.  IRP for v2022 will be available Q4 2022, or with the v2023 release.  PM 2.0 will convert Work Order History.  Even if on PM 1.0 already, if WO History is found, it will be converted.

Although there were no new features, they are fixing a number of quirky things that did not work properly in the PM 1.0 release.

Yes, it is Linda's smoke detectors beeping.  It was happening last week on the BPAC Call also.  Someone live hear her that can grab a ladder, and help out? :)  #mostannoyingsound

@Madeline Stefanou can you elaborate on PM2 and IRP? I'm not a MFG expert.
Is PM2 the version Sage is working on for v2022 release?
If so, does that imply that PM1 ( Scanco version ) does support the current IRP?

And, if that's so, I'm unsure how 2022 can be released and suddenly that takes away IRP from someone who might have been using it in 2021.

I'm willing to admit that I may be ( probably am ) all mixed up on this and it would be helpful to clarify what the issues are because Sage sure didn't do anything to help.

I was VERY disappointed to be greeted with a "personal and confidential" slide slapped up on the screen. I'm not sure how we are supposed to provide guidance to our customers for a release that was initially only 30 days away until Sage seemingly pushed the date out.. I can understand when you are talking a year or more but when things get this close it seems we should be able to discuss with customers.

Overall this was another really bad Sage event in my personal opinion.

@Wayne Schulz Correct.  Scanco Version of Production Management (1.0) does function with the Inventory Requirement Planning (IRP) Product in v2019, v2020 and v2021.
However, Sage has not re-written that module to their standards like they have PM 2.0, so it will not be available in v2022.  Maybe by late fall of this calendar year, most likely with the v2023 version.

I asked the question but it was not answered.  What about clients that own both PM and IRP; what is the plan for them with v2022?  Will they be able to move to v2022 but without IRP?  Will they get a credit for the payments they have made and are making on IRP as of the v2022 Release?  That question was not asked.

    Thanks!
That's probably why Sage slapped an NDA on their event.

In general ( you may have seen this ) - here's what I'm recommending in terms of minimum upgrade times for customers who ask:

    If you are using...

    1. Primarily financials - no distribution or manufacturing or third-party - 60 Days
    2. Financials and Distribution - no third-party - 90 Days
    3. Financials and Distribution - with third-party - 120 Days
    4. Financials and Distribution w/MFG or Production Management - 180 Days

What's the difference between IRP and Sage Inventory Advisor?  (SIA)?  Isn't SIA compatible with everything?  If yo have SIA do you need IRD and/or visa versa?

@Doug Higgs  IRP is not Sage Inventory Advisor.  IRP is the "replacement" for the MRP Module, but it does not support Projected Demands.  IRP is a product developed by Scanco and is similar to their JobOps (OM) Component Exception Manager.  It is designed to show you material exceptions in two dashboards; one for Purchase and one Production Management.  IRP allows you to select items from the dashboard and press a button to create the Purchase Order.  Or if looking at Make Items, press the button and have the Work Tickets Created.

Regarding @Madeline Stefanou comment about Linda Cade.  Smoke alarm beeping for two weeks now.  That is VERY sad and concerning!!!!  Linda has very limited mobility and is probably unable to reach the detector to change the battery.  Last month it was her dog howling mournfully in the background, now it is smoke detectors.  I wonder if anyone at Sage (who are on these calls) has reached out to her.  I just sent a note to a former coworker expressing my concern.  Sad, very sad!!

We discussed this very issue internally.

It's so hard to listen online with any sort of noise distraction in the background. This is something I will mention to Sage in my next call.   If for nothing else other than consideration for the people you're presenting most on headsets.

    It was a bummer.

For more than a couple years now, it's been obvious that Sage should require staff who do any webinar presentations to spend a year in a Toastmasters group. Linda has always been an extreme example, but others on this call are clueless about how not to drive attendees away.

I encourage all 90 Minders to this, also. I spent a couple years in Toastmasters and I benefited lots. I watched others also go from painfully silent trying to give a short speech to being downright loquacious. You will not be alone if you attend a local group. @Robert Wood is quite active in his group, and can provide lots of  context to my rant here.

All that said, I do hope that Linda can arrange the assistance she needs from time to time. I do admire her determination to continue to contribute.

There was also a thread in Sage City from someone who I think was an end user expressing surprise that when they updated to IRP that one of the MRP data files that they’d done some custom reporting with went away.

This is potentially a big issue if not caught.

And it’s easy to miss if a department separate from accounting has some self-developed reports.

    MP_04SuppliesAndDemands

Scanco is also simultaneously marketing a Production Management Plus which I am unclear on whether that is the Scanco code or the Sage code. My guess is that it's Scanco code and if that's the case I bet a few customers become confused over exactly what they bought and why Sage isn't supporting it, etc.

IRP is a module inside Sage and Sage Inventory Advisor is a cloud-based application that pulls data from Sage and provides order recommendations that can be downloaded and imported back to Sage.  IRP has pretty limited functionality but is easy to set up and use - Sage access is required and you get what you get.  SIA is loaded with features, is very configurable and requires more setup and configuration but provides in-depth data for analysis, forecasting, order recommendations and can be run from any web browser.

SIA is a Ferrari and IRP is more like a 10-speed bike - they are very different applications.  There are some good SIA overview videos on YouTube.  We have several manufacturing clients that use SIA and after working through the configuration they love it.

Thanks @Bernie Lehman  That's great information.  I have a few customers using SIA but I don;t know much about it.  I am thinking maybe forget about IRP and recommending anyone using PM use SIA instead.  Why wait around for compatibility promises particularly given the recent track record.

It was disappointing, but not surprising. Some Sage 100 customers are comfortable paying maintenance for, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Others will want to move to an ERP that has a team of developers adding features and functionality to the product. The key for us is to be able add value and service both types of customers.

The most exciting news was that Linda still needs to replace her smoke detector. I'll be starting a GoFundMe account and I ask all of you to please donate whatever you can so we can send her a battery and prevent this from ever happening again.
