Sage 100

What versions of Sage 100 will switch to 100c just by updating product keys? Is 2014 viable or would an upgrade be required in order to switch? TIA

I think you're right. Just hoping Sage would have made the keys backward compatible to get as many people as possible onto subscription pricing.

I personally hoped that a user could switch to 100c for the same price as perpetual (considering they are locked in at that point) but Sage doesn't see it that way at all....

Customers cannot even renew on perpetual for the ""same price."" I am getting complaints regularly from customers experiencing 23% increases YOY for multiple years running.

As 100c was 1st offered in v2016, i believe that is the 1st version that will update

They can still switch to 100c pricing and still stay on 2014 - don't do anything with the keys until they upgrade.

Worth noting, if you also removed modules/users during the transition to 100c AND you are on a version of 100 which supports self-updating keys then you may automatically have your keys updated and the modules/users removed. This happened to me with one customer where they dropped users and modules and were on a version of Sage supporting auto-update keys. Versions of Sage 100 and Sage 100c which auto-update keys: 2015.5+ 2016.2+ 2017.0+ Note: Versions 5.20.3 (2015.3), 5.20.4 (2015.4), 5.30.1 (2016.1) will have the ability to update the payroll expiration date with the Update button by installing the Hot Fixes based on version KB 83158 ( https://goo.gl/NnlQbY ).
