    What processes consume a user license?
    Sage 100 Premium v2019 - *info displays 10 "Total User Licenses".  The partner portal shows 8 user licenses.  Five users are logged into Sage 100 and there are no available licenses.  They have Alerts & Worksflows. Starship, they use Automatic Updates, and at least one Excel Power Query I know of.

    Check for MAS90 mode connections.  They won't necessarily show in Master Console, but they will count against the licenses being used.
    ODBC does not consume a license.

    Along the lines of what Kevin said, anything using BOI like Starship, runs Mas90 style and takes up a license while it's running. If by Automatic Updates you mean Updates that were set to run through Sage Task Scheduler, those create Windows Task Scheduler jobs and I'm fairly sure they are set to run Mas90 style too. Look for scheduled V/I autorun jobs too (typically run through a BAT file) . They can be setup to run either Mas90 style or Client/Server style. Also if App Server Config is running on the server it's probably taking a license too, so you could close that down, as the App Server itself (as a service or desktop app) runs separately.

    If you've set up Sage Scheduled Tasks and they don't finish nicely, that will lock / waste a license until the service / server is restarted, since they always run MAS90 style.

    @Kevin Moyes  That's good to know.  I know this customer has several scheduled tasks and I am a bit suspicious of hung up jobs or other mas90 style programs running in the background. ​
