What Knowledgesync components do I need to send alerts for out of stock items via email. I see the KS Professional, Reports, Workflow. Do I need to buy add-ons to make this work or is just the KS Professional adequate? What do Reports and Workflow add?

You just need the base package. Reports is for sending Crystal reports and Workflow is to push scripts.

I think just the KS Professional will do notifications. If you wanted to set up escalations or something for them, then you would need the Workflow. Or if you wanted to email a Crystal report, you would need the Reports module.

It is called enterprise version now. professional version is not sold anymore.

Costs is $1799 + 399 for maintenance.

Thanks - I quoted them the bundle just to cover my ass and because I don't think they're that interested. I'll use the overage as my fee to implement.

Reports allow you to create a Crystal report and add it to the e-mail as a pdf attachment. WAY easier to do if you are comfortable in Crystal. One less ""program language"" to learn and easier to format. I don't sell KS without the report module. Not sure what workflow brings to the table.
