    Is Windows Server Datacenter supported with Sage 100?

    <content>

    Sage does not support Sage 100 with Windows Server Datacenter

    • Note: Although there are Sage 100 forum posts from users and partners who report that they have successfully installed and have tested Sage 100 in this environment without issue, users should be cautioned that if an issue arises that is specific to Datacenter Servers, it may not be addressed since Datacenter Servers are not officially supported as stated on the Sage 100 Supported Platform Matrix. As of March 2020, Datacenter Servers are not on the Sage 100 Roadmap.

    The greater the percentage of users are on subscription, the less Sage has to do to keep them...there is a noticeable drop in performance of Premium between Windows 2012R2  and Windows 2016, except Sage never noticed because all their VMs are now 2016 unless someone specifically spins up a 2012.  Hopefully Sage will figure it out before 2012R2 goes out of support.  And Sage support's first line when reporting performance issues is still to blame it on the VM setup, as if VMs were some newfangled beta project no one should ever use for production...

    Hi Wayne
       I discussed this issue once with Alnoor.   He mentioned that there was an issue with Datacenter serveral versions back that has since been corrected but that Sage never acknowledged this.   Can't give you specifics but I am sure that Alnoor could.    And I also find that Sage seems to like to find any other issue they can point at, this just being one example.

    What caught my eye is that someone at Sage specifically updated the KB with March 2020 - so this was a very recent update to disclaim Datacenter.

    This is a question for the Dev team... if there is a current technical reason, or if the omission is simply used as an excuse by Sage Support to ignore a customer support case.
