What caught my attention on this review of Sage Summit UK is its author. Den Howlett is a long-time critic of Sage; ""critic"" is putting it nicely. Yet here he is remarkably bullish. That said, a careful think on his piece results in two conclusions: 1. He is impressed that Sage refers to itself now as a ""tech company"" and is all about cloud, and 2. His last several grafs essentially say that the company hasn't really yet produced anything and has huge hurdles to jump to do so. He has no relevant reporting on either results to date of this new strategy nor or the huge headwinds the company faces in 40% of its market (NA). Anyway, worth a read by those following Sage ... http://bit.ly/2o7lPPT

It does seem strange in my book. Bailing on the Costa Rica event even more so. The latter particularly because he'd promised for a long time that he would attend. Then not even a decent excuse? This leads to theories about something big cooking. If you want people to care about your company and differentiate from others, one thing (in conjunction with many others) you do is make the Top Dog memorable in a good way.
