    What are the Sage 100 integrated alternatives to Avalara? For some reason, I believe that Blytheco wrote the integration for another Sales Tax Calculator, but I cannot seem to find any information on it.

    For a while (maybe still) Net@Work was promoting an integration with Vertex. Seems someone mentioned Vertex a little while back. I seem to think it was relating to it being cheaper than Avalara.

    Vertex. One customer had problems with large volumes of invoices (they import invoices into the system).

    Vertex integration is available for Sage 100 Standard and Advanced for versions 2013 and 2014. Development for 2015 is ongoing.

    That really seems strange, but OK. Any other options folks? Vertex is OUT since I need Premium AND a something that is more current than 2014.

    We had one customer who came to us last spring and top of their list was replacing Avalara. One quarter with Vertex was enough to make them appreciate Avalara. Vertex integration with Sage 100 is awful (still can't completely uninstall it even after reverting to Avalara, nonstandard way of adding address verification icons into Sage 100, etc.)

    Agree with Phil on Vertex.... had to manually uninstall it program by program, file by file.....

    Blytheco also wrote an integration with Speed Tax by CCH. I have a client using it but they are not particularly happy with it.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback. It appears that Avalara really is the only viable option for a truly integrated solution. I know there are enhancements that can be used for importing tax schedules, so at least I've got three options to work from. I am surprised that Avalara seems to be the only game in town, but I'm sure that will change over time.

    TYVM, @Jeff Fiddelman and @Phil McIntosh!  I'm wondering if either of you or anyone else has any feedback re: the following steps I have since performed to get further along with this v2021 Upgrade (from v2014):

    Upon initiating the data conversion it appeared to proceed, but then got this message after a few seconds:  "The Vertex SMB module needs to be reinstalled".

      • Went back into my source and performed the following, since Uninstalling via Sys Config (incl the below error: 'SY_ModuleDate' does not have correct permissions. - error 13, VT_Installation.pvc, 93) apparently isn't sufficient (and Vertex remains on-screen):
        • I deleted the 1 Vertex record in sy_enhancement.
        • I deleted the 18 V/T (Vertex) records in sy_classenhancement.
        • I deleted the 1  lV/T record from sy0ctl (that's lower-case L in front of V/T).
      • Re-ran Migration and re-tried Data Conversion, but got same message that Vertex needs to be reinstalled.
      • So I then just tried uninstalling Vertex via v2021 Sys Config, and it appeared to do so successfully (without error/issue).
      • I then ran and completed the Data Conversion, so now we need to bang on the system to see if it rears its ugly head.


    When trying to uninstall vertex in v2014 source copy - error 13, VT_Installation.pvc, 93:
