What am I not seeing? v5.2 Price Level in Sales Order Entry Grid is grayed out. Full Rights in Role Maintenance, turned on Esc Trapping still no go (so not a script), changed the settings in SO Options to match mine exactly. I can change it in my system, but not in theirs! WTH?

They have no Price Codes setup with Price Levels. I just tested it in XYZ company.

They do though, Price Code STD and 31 different price levels. The default price level is being assigned in SO Entry, we just can't change it.

Did you try resetting the panel?

Is it happening on one user's workstation or everyones?

What if you set up a default code in the customer master just to test @BethBowers - post?

hmm, there goes my theory. Can't find in the code yet where this field would be grayed out other than Beth's scenario. Will keep looking.

@DavidOverholt none, just some basic scripts, but we turned on Esc Trapping and still had the same results... so unless esc trapping is not working it's a pretty vanilla system. @MarcosDeLuna & @BethBowers including a screen shot just in case I am totally missing what you are saying.

And in Price Code Maintenance you can see price levels in there, too, right?

Is it also happening in S/O Invoice Entry? Just curious

Can you change the price of an item in Lines tab?

You didn't mention that the field could simply be disabled in the grid using custom office, but the *ESC should have disabled all customizer screens too. I've never known *ESC not to work, but after you do *ESC you should no longer see the asterisk in the title bar of the sales order entry screen. I noticed the asterisks are showing in your screen shots, so I thought I would point that out just in case.

@BethBowers yes, I can see and edit them there. @MarkKotyla Yep, no issues there. @MarcosDeLuna No, I cannot, interesting. @DavidOverholt , yes sorry I should have taken a screen shot when Esc was still enabled, but you are correct, when we have it on, the asterisk does go away. However in custom office, you can't disable it, only hide it - you have to use UI scripting to disable, unless I am missing something? One new piece of info that may help, when right clicking on the screen and accessing the customizer, I can no longer see the custom screens. It doesn't prompt me to choose the company/user combination - it is just blank as if there are no customizations at all, but when going into customizer through Custom Office, I can see them?! Also, there is an extra customization in MAS90\SO for ###-### that shouldn't be there. When I try to delete it it tells me it is in use. So something somewhere is messed up. Rebuilding custom panels didn't do it. Anyone know what lookups these use? I am thinking if I can rebuild them it might fix it. Maybe just a rebuild of the system files in their entirety?

Ugh. Have a client with totally screwed SY_Grid files - have lots of extra customizations for various combinations of user/all user/company/all company and it plays hell with new mods. Hopefully that's not you.

@MarcosDeLuna saved my butt. We went into SY_GridDefinition and changed the locked field manually and that fixed it. Not sure how it got messed up in the first place, and it is a long road to get it fixed for everyone, but at least we are on track. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

Having a similar but opposite issue.  User role is not allowed to override prices in SO entry.  WAD!  However, office manager is saying user is still overriding prices.  In looking around with those roles, I cannot override the prices but I CAN change the price level which overrides the prices accomplishing the same thing!!!  This seems to be a buggy WAD.  Am I missing a security setting somewhere that prevents price level overrides?  When I use custom office to hide the price level field (all users), this is a workaround.  But now you can't "see" the field for price verification.  IMHO, if you are restricted from price overrides, you should be restricted also from price level changes..  Thoughts?

Can you create a workgoup and apply a Lock on that field in the screen?

I am sure I could but then I have multiple panels to maintain.  That was my recommendation to the client.  Based on the anticipated Sage response, I hesitate to even ask Sage but in my thinking, if you are prevented from price overrides, then you should be prevented from price level changes as well.  Can a script be written to prevent a price level change if role does not have permission for price overrides or create a unique role for this purpose?

I know that a script can cure this issue, but I don't write scripts :( My go to is @Nicole Ronchetti - the bomb!
