We've entered employee e-mails and have successfully sent the paystubs by e-mail. The problem is with the password function. We originally set up the required override password and set the default employee password as the social security number. o Now we want to change the passwords since the employees are complaining about using their social security numbers. o A few days ago we went into the payroll employee maintenance direct deposit paperless office change password section for two of the employees to test it out. It appeared to work since we were able to send an email from that screen notifying the test employees of their new password. The problem was, that when we issued payroll today the new password didn't work. The override password was used. Any thoughts here before I did in?

Go into employee maintenance for the paperless function. Under the direct deposit button. In lower right, I believe there is a button to e-mail the password to the employee. Send it and find out if that password works. The purpose here is to determine if the PW change actually took and remained what it was a few days ago.

Sounds as if they did that and it did not change the password

I don't believe it changes the password on the existing PDFs.

Do they have to go through and change passwords employee by employee once they'd already issues SS as PW?

If they want to change previously saved PDF's, they are SOL. FWIW, one of my clients forgot the master backdoor password for their PDF's. I started a PW cracking program one Friday evening and stopped it the following Monday morning. No luck on the decryption. It is pretty tough to break. Client changed the PW going forward.

They would have to go through employee by employee but as Jeff said if they want to update the existing PDFs, they're SOL.

    SOL is right.
