Well, this certainly gives me pause about the Sage Sale Machine. **Jeff, I have to say we are very disappointed in the sales process. It has gotten to the where our point of contact Benjamin Whitfield has not even answered our last two emails. I hate to say it but we are going to look at other solutions. I just thought you should know.** I hate to admit that I wasn't even aware Sage was trying to engage. Shame on me for being out of the loop, Double Shame on Sage for being piss poor performers in the sales cycle.

Is this a potential new customer? Existing?

If this is the same guy - looks like his tour of duty with Sage might have been up in September - https://www.linkedin.com/in/benjamin-whitfield-079bb044/

I had an appointment scheduled for Benjamin Whitfield to speak with a current customer of mine. I received an email response that he no longer works at Sage. No one else has contacted me.

Has anyone had issues with the folks at Beanworks, as well? I think they're getting slammed. We have a lot of interest from clients and are trying to coordinate a demo and are getting nowhere, and I've had a couple of questions on details and am now being passed along to my third person and no answers yet. They were impressive the first week - now, not so much.

I had no luck with initial - or subsequent - contact with anyone at Beanworks. I reached the same conclusion @BethBowers and have tentatively put them on hold pending feedback from a happy user in the group. I also emailed someone at Sage regarding not getting a reply at Beanworks and to verify if I had the proper address. Radio silence.

If this is payroll services, we have had no luck at all. False promises and delivered disappointments.

It is surprising that Sage struggles with Sales. I had a customer call me a few years back. They had IT budget left at the end of the year and wanted to buy 10 additional licenses for future growth but wanted some type of promotion and had to issue the PO in 24 hours. I asked Sage to give them 5% and told them of the urgency. It took Sage 3 days to make a decision and of course the customer had to commit on another project. I got a call from Sage asking why we lost the deal as they were extremely disappointed. I told them that they were too late in making a decision. Their response - ""I think we had a good lesson here. You should have done a better needs analysis with a strong ROI case."" (Remember this was for additional users...) My lesson - I should have just given them 5%. The after story - The customer offloaded some of the tasks from their ERP. They never purchased the additional users and that sale was forever lost.

Sage LOVES to blame the reseller when they can't or won't play ball, @ScottHickman

When I had one of the last remaining 53 customers on the old SQL it took Sage 6 months to decide that a license for ABRA payroll was in order to get them converted to the new Sage 100 SQL sans payroll.

Such a sense urgency. Reminds me of whack a mole at the penny arcade. Except that no one is willing to poke there head out of the Sage hole.
