  • 1.  Webroot - disable vs uninstall

Customer is on v2017 Standard.  Has new Outside IT.  Suddenly one person's printing of registers is very slow along with clicking around the system. They have Webroot and guessing it was probably installed by new IT.  I advised him to uninstall it.  He is arguing that he disabled 'all services and functions of Webroot' which disables all active protection and passive protection.  Quote:  This is effectively identical to the AV being removed, so removal is redundant. Unquote.
He thinks the issue is:  The Register has grown to large.      So of course he must be Sage Certified!!  LoL!
He says:  It is not a network issue!  Of course not, cuz you're IT and you know it all!
My question is:  Is his comment on Webroot valid or do I insist on an Uninstall?  I'll need a valid argument to make to him.
He did remove 1 printer from the workstation, haven't heard back on results.
    Thoughts?

If there are no running processes, that is the key.  If a program from Webroot shows up in Task Manager, whatever they did is NOT the same as uninstalling.  AV software is notoriously difficult to uninstall (with deep hooks into the system, to avoid being easily disabled by malware) so I seriously doubt the software allows full deactivation with some check-boxes.
