We ran into an issue and I wanted to know if anyone had any solutions or suggestions on how to keep this from happening in the future. Client has Sage Exchange, in troubleshooting an issue in RMA, our tech created a test company and copied the data over to do some troubleshooting and testing. Apparently, this created an additional connection with Exchange and because it was attempting to link Sage exchange to the new company and then Exchange blocked their IP address so then they could not process any transactions. The response from SPS was "" A user from your side created a test company account in Sage 100 for test purposes as you confirmed in your activity log. This was the reason for the multiple connections. the IP Address was blocked because we saw 18k failed attempts to our vault system within 10 minutes."" So, my question is has anyone run into this before and is there any workaround at the time of creating the company that would keep this from happening? Thanks in advance! Pam

Good question! Never thought about that issue when making Test Companies. Can you remove the Merchant ID's in the Test Company?

Or deselect the Enable Credit Card in Company Maintenance?

I need to get additional details from my team, but Therese I believe your suggestion causes other issues with Exchange within the live company. Nancy, I'll ask about removing the merchant ID, but it seems to me that the staff thinks that what ever happens with exchange is happening while they are copying data, but not sure that makes sense to me. I'm also going to get with SPS and see what they can tell me as well.

When you make a company copy, does the ""enable flag"" get turned on automatically? I thought not.

I meant in the 'new' test company, not the live company.

Yes, I'm being told that there is an issue if you turn it off in the ""New"" company. Let me do a little more research on this end and I'll share my findings. Thanks so much! Really appreciate you guys.

I've never enabled the cc checkbox in a test company.

I can't find the doc from a Summit session (will keep looking), but there was something about asking SPS for a test merchant ID so as to not have an issue with live data when testing.

@JaneCavanaugh was that for the 'test' migration? I know there can be issues when migrating live data into an upgrade version prior to going live but not when copying data to a 'test' company.

@ThereseLogeais You are correct. The write up was for an upgrade.
