We have our first Sage On-line prospect and wondered if there are any issues that I might want to take into consideration or need to know about during implementation. Thanks, Pam

I haven't done the research recently, but compared to our hosting platform their used to be the following differences: - No Crystal in the environment. Work locally then upload and troubleshoot. - No Paperless office e-mails. You could create PDFs, save to cloud, download to local computer and then mail manually. - No VI - No 3rd party products (except endorsed and not all of them) It is good for a basic user with a vanilla system.

I don't think Custom Office is supported - as Gary said these are typically 1-3 user type deals. Above that I think most people go with third party hosting.

Sage On-Line is still on 4.50 too. Can't figure out why they haven't upgraded this product to let users take advantage of the new features like the auto-complete. Limited modules too. Does work with Mac though!

The funny thing is that they are in the same data center as us, using the same technology we do and they limit things for no reason. We even offered to work with them and all we asked is for them to acknowledge that other people host the products just like Microsoft does (Microsoft says it hosts on Azure and there are also third party hosting companies in all their documentation).

Seriously, Sage online is in v4.50?

Too funny!!! Migration must be a big deal for them....

At one point Sage publicly talked about taking Sage 100 Online to Azure. I think they've hit some type of stumbling block because they've since been silent.

*info says 4.50.2! Can't even put on the latest product update. There's no custom office so what's the big deal?

Looks like Sage has a very foggy notion of what cloud is supposed to be...then again, without manual intervention, the upgrade to 2013 will break all the customized check forms...wonder what will happen when 4.50 becomes ""unsupported""...

Sage has been focusing their resources on 300 Online. Sage 300 Online is on Azure and is now multi-tenant. Sage 100 Online is getting no investment. We provide a 30 day development environment for migrations so the VAR and customer can test the migration and then re-migrate the data prior to going live. We have seen more problems with the most 2013 and SAP 9.0 upgrades than any other versions previously. We don't trust any developers these days as the almighty dollar seems to trump customer satisfaction.

@NancyHanson and @PamScott According to a August 27, 2014 posting on a LinkedIn thread Deborah Nelson - Product Manager - Sage 100 ERP at Sage said ""Jeff, in regards to Sage 100 Online, version 2013 is available now and 2014 should be soon
