We have a multi-state payroll client that dislikes Aatrix immensely. They produce several thousand W2s across 16 states. Printing, stuffing, mailing is not a problem and what they used to do. Other options?

@Wayne is predicting that Aatrix is out after this year and SAGE takes over... this is based on Sage MO to be in control and Aatrix lack of marketing. But who knows!!!

@BobPfahnl What exactly don't they like?

We haven't talked. He said it was too much to cover in an email. I will get more info when I report back to him if there are viable options.

Well, uploading the information electronically is your problem as you can still print and stuff the w-2's. Will be interesting to hear your client's concerns (besides the cost)? And if they don't like Aatrix, they certainly aren't going to like Sage. I rue the day if Sage takes control of the process. They have yet to demonstrate their PR chops in any of their previous attempts in that arena. It will be very ugly when they try.

So are there alternatives to Aatrix? Because if they, like Aatrix, can do the processing with an uploaded file, then the customer just needs to get the data out of Sage into a spreadsheet and use whatever processor they want.

Agreed @PhilMcIntosh. That's my question. Is anyone doing that? They liked and used Martin's White Paper for years.

@BobPfahnl - Did Martin & Assoc. drop their enhancement?

l talked to the client. Printing is not the issue. Due to their # of EEs, populating Aatrix takes a full day. Then uploading the file to Aatrix for e-filing only by state is cumbersome and results in overcharges. Full service charges are signficantly more than him printing himself. Corrections to previously uploaded files is impossible. Client has worked extensively with Aatrix so begrudgingly has figured out workarounds.

How many employees do they have?

8k W2s on average annually over 18 states.

Wow. That is a hefty Aatrix bill every year.
