We have a customer on 4.3 Advanced who cannot login to a company through Crystal. You can get the login window but the company drop-down is grayed out and you cannot click on the drop-down. Reran workstation setup but I'm thinking we may need to reinstall LM or something. Thoughts? Reports run from within Sage, by the way.

Long Shot, but do they have access to the crystal designer in role maintenance? I realize they are going through crystal but worth a check.

Nothing unusual in Role Maintenance but when I went into ODBC Administrator and clicked on SOTAMAS90, I got this:

Are they on a 64 bit machine? Then go through windows/sysWOW64\odbcad32.exe to access.

If it's not what @NancyHanson just said then it is likely permissions (or lack thereof).

Well it is a 64-bit machine but going through syswow64, I cannot test the connection string. Gave the user full Admin rights, logged off and back on but no luck.

Did you uninstall workstation setup before reinstalling? Sometimes corrupt files won't get overwritten if you just reinstall.

    Doing that now...

Just curious - are they also having the issue with only Deferred Printer showing?

    Nope, that didn't do it.

No @BethBowers but I had that problem yesterday with a different customer. Had to change the MAS90 directory on that workstation to not read only. Not sure why it was checked and I don't always believe it but it worked for that user.

I know many moons ago - like a decade or so ago - I had a user who could log in but didn't see any modules once they did. I remember having to reinstall LM and System Setup but I couldn't tell you what version that was.

Not seeing any modules has recently been a sign that they've got the CryptoLocker virus because the menu is a text file. On Advanced, the menu file is stored locally, isn't it? (Meaning you could copy from another one). Anyway, this looks like network rights to me. Had an Adv upgrade a week ago that took about half a day and then we spent another 8 hours getting the flipping rights setup correctly for the service, the ODBC service, paperless, etc.

I meant they didn't see any modules in Crystal. Sage is working fine. I don't see any Crypto files here.

Are they in MAS while trying to access via Crystal? What level of SU? Wasn't there an SU for v4.3 for the 64 bit WIN release?

Hmm. Tried creating a new report and this is all I see for modules. I forced the user and password in the connection.

    Makes sense - those modules aren't company-specific.

Is there a blank record in sy0??

Here's the problem - there was a blank company code in in SY_Company.
