We have a couple items in the budget that I'd like

We have a couple items in the budget that I'd like to get started subscribing to. First, I think we need our own GotoWebinar account - both for internal and external webinars. Cost on this is in the budget and is $ 948 for 12 months (prepaid saves us 20%). This gives us up to 100 participants. GotoMeeting is also included. If we have the money I suggest we go with a full year since it's virtually certain we need this. Second, I'd like to start a Basecamp for tracking tasks mostly related to our events and sponsors. We need a central place to store everything. Cost on this is in the budget too and is $20/mo for up to 10 projects. We can do some of this in Google Apps but not an easy way to track tasks. Third, I'd like to get our 90 Minds newsletter started. We can do this at no cost though Mailchimp provided we are under 12,000 emails per month and 2,000 subscribers. I recommend that we segment the list as: a. Members b. Non-Member Consultants c. End Users and prospects d. Vendors TL;DR: GotoWebinar - spend $ 948 for 12 months Basecamp - spend $20/mo

I think we are good with it. Just wondering how it will work. Can anyone use it? Is it only for official 90M functions or can it be used for company seminars? Do you envision a reservation system?

So far as I'm concerned we could allow anyone to use it subject to reservations. Perhaps instead of just sharing the password to login we have a small group of people initially to test how the sharing works and then as we get the feel for it we expand.

Agreed. We can let anyone who is a member use it, but there needs to be a schedule and gatekeeper(s).

I created a calendar - I'll work on getting it to everyone (it's presently blank). We have a 30 day free trial of GotoWebinar -- which includes GotoMeeting. They apparently are testing a new landing page for people to use which should be a little easier to remember. The 90 Minds page is https://gotomeet.me/90minds You'd start a GotoMeeting then instruct the other people (I think up to 25 can attend) to visit that URL. Again more coming on the hows and why -- this is just an advance FYI

Didn't say I liked it, but what other options are there? I will slowly get there. Which of my three Google email addresses do I use to access it? At least I use a computer and not a yellow pad of paper to keep my notes on.....

If we decide we want a cloud based file sharing, file sending (up to 10gb per file), version controlling (with check-in/check-out), file syncing & backup solution with strong security and tracking controls let me know. This has nothing to do with Eversafe. Its a solution sold only through Vars that combines box, dropbox, yousendit, sugarsync & carbonite into one solution. Our cost plummets as we add users so I'm looking for a way to add users and would of course charge 90minds my invoice cost for the thing. I believe we can get this cost down to $6/user/month. Typically sells for $15/user/month (same price as box.com which has only a fraction of the functionality) My ulterior motive is to get the # of users up so I can offer it to my clients at a rate that offers a healthy profit and recurring revenue. I can do so for any of you eventually with a very reasonable markup for us to support your client with it. They require I purchase a 100 user license (across any number of entities with their own independent portal, users and security controls) to get the best pricing so that's what I'm trying to work towards

The current promotion they are offering includes 15TB of storage in that 100 user count. Pretty healthy for backing up your data...

My primary concern is when 90 Minds pays for per seat licenses we probably have the 5 / 95 rule. Of our existing members 5% may actively (or passively) use the service. The other 95% are content to login and ask someone to help them. I am afraid that we'd purchase a lot of licenses and not fully utilize them. That' sone reason we gravitated toward Evernote which puts the cost burden on the member vs 90 Minds paying for very expensive Zendesk seats and having members login and complain that they don't know/never logged into their account yet we're paying big $$ per month. As much as I would like to Sync and give everyone a license I suspect our best bet is to guide members in how to create (and pay for) their own file share system and we can offer a dropbox or box share (whichever way we can make it read only). Then the member is free to be proactive and copy down the files and maintain their own data. TL;DR -- I'm afraid of services which require us to purchase a lot of licenses because 95% of our members are not proactive enough to actually use the tool. Complain about a lack of a tool? Yes. Actually use one? No.

    Ok, fair answer.
