We have a client that is running Sage 100 ERP Standard 4.5 PU 7. They have placed a shortcut to the MS Word application on their Sage taskbar. When they launch the application from the shortcut on the task bar they receive a ""Microsoft Word has stopped working"" error and are forced to close the program. When they launched the MS Word application separate from the Sage shortcut they have no issues running the application. They receive the message intermittently running various tasks inside of Word application. Has anyone seen this before?

My guess might be rights? What happens if you right click and run the Sage 100 as administrator then try clicking the icon. Haven't seen this but that idea popped into my mind.

They are accessing the application from a Citrix environment so they are launching published applications and can't run as administrator. Additionally, when they launch the published application (both Word and Sage) they are doing so with the same rights that they are using to launch the Word application from the Sage taskbar.

I'm not a Citrix expert, but there might be an issue with launching a published app from a published app.

Could it be related to server resources and how each user's resources are being allocated. I suggest using a desktop. I agree with Myron Stevenson - there might be an issue launching a published app from within a published app. All of our clients that use more applications than Sage 100 from a terminal or Citrix server get some type of desktop.
