We have a client interested in Sage Fixed Assets. I understand that there is (or soon will be) no more MAS FAS. Clients who have MAS FAS will get Sage Fixed Asset - Depreciation and Reporting. Will the FAS Link still work from PO and AP to the new Sage Fixed Assets - Depreciation? Can anyone confirm and, more importantly, can anyone describe the certification requirements, if any?

I don't know for sure but I think the link should still work. i recently upgraded someone from the freebie version to full (overpriced) FAS and it was surprisingly easy. The biggest issue is that you have to upgrade incremental versions vs going right to the most current (assuming customer is a few levels back). I have several clients using the FAS Link between the external FAS and Sage 100. I does not work with PO and AP. It's a one way link that allows for the import of the Depreciation entry to the General Ledger.

Update. $1,000 Fixed Asset certification role. $1,000 product line fee. Or, you can give Sage the lead and receive a 20% commission and no support. Nice.

Oh, the link does support creating new assets from AP and PO if you are on Sage 100 v2013 using templates created in FIxed Assets. It may work for earlier releases as well.

@KathrynScofield thanks for the update. I remember when Sage rolled this Fixed Asset certification out and tried to convince people to pay $1,300. Sage did all sorts of tap dancing over how the price really wasn't that high because people could only chose one competency or another. But realistically people are going to need the full competencies. http://erplife.com/2012/09/01/sage-shot-gun-fixed-assets-certification-1000-fee-due-30-days/
