We are trying to implement credit limit checking at a company that processes about 40% credit orders and 60% credit card/Cash deposit orders. The standard credit limit functionality is working as expected, but we do no want to have to override the 60% that have a valid credit card preauthorized. It appears the credit limit checking is also being applied to those credit card orders. Any way to work around this? I am also hoping that I am missing something obvious.

Set their credit limits to 99999999?

Yeah - but if they reorder and they do not take a credit card - it allows it to ship. Seems like we need an order to be automatically taken off of hold if a credit card authorization is taken. It appears that this might not be standard functionality and we may have to figure out some type of work around. I just did not want to go down that path in case there was some standard workflow that I was overlooking.

That is the problem with 20+ year old software. What was cutting edge standard back in the day is antiquated in the 21st century!!

Are they being put on hold because they are over the credit limit or because the credit department put them on the hard hold? What happens if you enter the order with a cash deposit? Is it still put on hold?

It is being put on hold when you first begin to enter the customer. (You get the credit screen with the option to place on hold or delete) I tried to enter a cash deposit for the SO Balance and then I tried to take it off of credit hold. I got the credit screen of death loop. They have a staff of 25 or so doing order entry off of a call center so they are trying to lock down the ability of the staff to override credit policies, etc.
