We are getting a lot of client inquiries about the Affordable Care Act, and how or if Sage 100 Payroll will handle the requirements of it. What if anything have you been telling your clients? Have you heard anything else from Sage on it? Thanks.

Have not heard anything but would be great if everyone could update this message with what they know/have learned.

We have had one inquiry. The client indicated some rather special reporting on hours and earnings that is sensitive to hire dates, length of employment and span certain periods would be required. Although I haven't explored it yet, this appears to need custom reporting on the perpetual history file. Who at Sage might be able to respond on this?

One or two people has asked. I told them Sage had the situation well under control. I pray that I don't burn in hell for that fib!!!!

We looked into this for one customer. The reporting requirement cannot be done now with Sage 100 PR. Sage HRMS can handle it easily.

I searched the Sage KB across all products and the only one with anything related to this was HRMS. Hopefully the answer is not going to be a November 2013 ""promo"" to upgrade payroll customers to HRMS....

I have two restaurant clients that needed to compile hours for the ""lookback period"" to test for whether an employee is full or part time. We pulled the hours from perpetual history into Excel and then created a pivot table to add the hours for a range of paycheck dates.

@JaneCavanaugh, thank you. That sounds like what my client was asking for. I'd had a senior moment and thought I would try it in Crystal.

@JohnBroadfoot - don't make me have to preach... Pivot Table in Excel = Cross Tabs in Crystal...
