We are doing a new implementation; client is using kits and exploding the components. They are using shipping data entry and a wedge scanner hooked to a workstation. They want to scan all the components as they package the order. That seems to work, except when they are done, the shipping data entry screen tells them that there are unresolved items on the order because they did not scan/ship the main ""Kit"" item. If they do scan the kit item first it auto-fills all the components which they don't want it to do. This seems like it would be somewhat of a typical process. Has anyone run into this? Is there a setting or procedure that we are missing?

I'm interested in this answer as well. On the surface it seems the order should already be in the system when it hits shipping and then they scan the components as shipped?

It works that same when you aren't using a scanner too. Once you enter shipped amount for main item, the components all default shipped qty. You may be able to 'scan' the components from the Item Pkg Maint. window.
