I'd take a wait and see. Microsoft scares me because of their ""sell the stack"" and confusing array of pricing options which often make no sense beyond appearing to protect their monopoly and those that work in a particular area. There was also some prior oddities about One Note which I can't recall but I think it used to be very limiting unless you paid. I want to say even on Windows Phone you could only either have one notebook or view notes but not edit them. Some crazy stuff like that. Microsoft has a long way to travel until I'm really sold that they're pointed in the right direction.

I have some co-workers that use One Note and it's amazing. I agree with Wayne though. As a business user, I don't feel like Microsoft has any connection to my needs any more and I feel like they should just focus on Xboxes.

Chuck and I used OneNote for several years and liked it a lot. But we switched to Evernote for two reasons. 1. Evernote's syncing is more robust and troublefree than OneNote. 2. OneNote is driving in a direction to become general ""knowledgebase/library/closet"" for anybody, keyed to flexible search. They intend to search on the audio files stored, too. I finally came to the conclusion that it would be easier to use with customers and collaborators than OneNote. So we switched.
